The use of elliptical bottoms
The bottoms elliptic stamped, structurally reminiscent of the elliptical end caps, are made from sheet metal by stamping and are used for main and field pipelines of high pressure, for example, gas pipelines, oil pipelines, process piping pumping and compressor stations, as well as in high pressure vessels.
GOST 6533 – 78 – flanged elliptical Bottoms steel, for vessels, apparatus and boilers. This standard applies to flanged elliptical bottoms of carbon, alloy and two-layer steels with wall thickness from 4 to 120 mm for vessels, apparatus and boilers in diameter from 133 to 4500 mm.
